Representative Role and Responsibilities
The criterion for becoming apart of the initiative is for the institution to be a UNCF member institution. A representative, preferably from the Office of Student Affairs, is to be appointed to act as the on-sight campus coordinator for the program. The representative will be the point of contact and will be responsible for attending mandatory training and carrying out the duties as delegated by the lead institution. As a sub-grantee, the participating intuitions are to perform the following duties through the aide of technical assistance provided by the lead institution:
- Attend all mandatory training and conferences hosted by the lead institution.
- Establish a relationship with at least one(1) local victim services provider and/or local law enforcement agency
- Conduct violence against women awareness programs for incoming students, faculty, and staff.
- Revise or implement policies regarding violence against women on campus to be incorporated into the campus Student Handbook
- Conduct training for judicial board members and campus law enforcement to respond effectively to violent crimes committed against women on UNCF college campuses
- Conduct a focus group to aide in the performance evaluation and data collection for the program.
Each participating institutions will receive a $2,000 stipend during the grant cycle to offset cost for implementing Project STOP NOW!.
